AliExpress product data: compare the selected SKU and market
An AliExpress listing can show a range across differently priced variants. For dropshipping research or price monitoring, compare the same option in the same destination market, and keep sale price, app-only price and shipping as separate observations.
Start with one AliExpress item page
Item URL · market contextUse the exact product page when the question concerns one listing. Add the ship-to country and currency to your comparison brief so the amount has a clear buyer context.
Keep the listing URL, selected option and ship-to market together when you define the fields for a comparison. Submitting a URL opens request setup; it does not guarantee every SKU, market price or shipping field will be available.
A price range needs four pieces of context
Comparison keyAn AliExpress listing can show a price range when its SKUs carry different prices. Selecting a variant changes the displayed price to that SKU's amount. Confirm the chosen option on the buyer page and capture its market before comparing the amount.
Product ID, exact item URL and title when present.
Selected option labels; SKU identity only when exposed.
Sale, original or app-only price with its currency.
Ship-to country, displayed shipping and observation time.
If the page only shows a low–high range, do not assign the low endpoint to every size, color or configuration.
The price belongs to a SKU choice, not just a listing.
An AliExpress product may have several option combinations. Its initial price can be a range when those SKUs have different prices; keep the selected option and buyer destination beside any price you compare.

| Price layer | Record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Product ID when available, exact item URL and title | The URL and identifier keep an observation tied to the listing even if its title changes. |
| SKU / variation | Displayed option values; platform SKU identifier only when exposed | A range can span variants that are not equivalent in size, configuration or price. |
| Price type | Observed amount, currency and whether it is sale, original or app-only | These values describe different price bases and should not be collapsed into one field. |
| Destination | Ship-to country and target currency; language where it affects the record | Country-specific pricing and conversion context can change what a buyer sees. |
| Delivery | Displayed shipping method, amount and delivery context as separate observations | Unknown shipping is not zero, and a delivery filter is not a final shipping quote. |
| Time | Observation time plus the original item URL | Promotions and availability can change; a price without a timestamp is hard to audit. |
Compare like-for-like offers across destinations.
For dropshipping research or price monitoring, make the comparison key explicit. If any of these checks fail, keep the rows separate or send the match for review.

| Check | Match on | Hold the comparison when |
|---|---|---|
| Variant | Same named option combination, and SKU identity when available | One value is the listing's low-price endpoint and the other is a selected, higher-priced option. |
| Price basis | Sale, original and app-only price stored in separate fields | A special app value or a conditional promotion is presented as the general buyer price. |
| Market | Same ship-to country and currency, or an explicit conversion method | A country-specific value is compared directly with another market's amount. |
| Delivery | Item price and any displayed shipping amount kept separate | Shipping is missing, or delivery timing is mistaken for an exact freight cost. |
| Time | A dated observation and source URL for each row | The source page or promotion has changed since the compared capture. |

AliExpress SKU and price questions
Why does an AliExpress product show a price range?
Variants can have separate prices. When SKU prices differ, the initial product price is shown as a range; selecting an option combination changes the displayed amount to that SKU's price.
Does the lowest price apply to every AliExpress variant?
No. The low end can belong to one particular option combination. Compare the same selected variant, and keep its option labels or SKU identifier when the page exposes one.
Can an AliExpress price change by destination country?
It can. Country-specific pricing and currency context can change what a buyer sees. Keep ship-to country and currency with each observation rather than comparing unqualified amounts.
