## When Keepa API is the better fit

- You need price or sales-rank history, for example for back-tests, sales estimates or a price chart.
- You want to filter Amazon products by sales, price and seller count across Keepa's database.
- You want price alerts sent to a webhook.

## When datawebot is the better fit

- You need the current price and details for products, and history is not the point.
- Your volume is small or irregular, and you would rather buy credits that do not expire than a monthly plan.
- You need the same product fields for Amazon, Walmart and other online stores from one API.
- Your agent should search products across shops and compare every seller's price for one product.

## Run a fair test

1. Pick three products you track and one store search page you care about.
2. Write down the fields you need: price, currency, availability, seller and variant.
3. Ask each tool for the same products and pages, and compare completeness, how much clean-up the output needs, and the cost per useful record.

## A few useful answers.

Is datawebot a Keepa API alternative?

For current Amazon product data, yes: price, availability, rating, review count, seller, ASIN, GTIN, specs and images, read when you ask. For price history, no. datawebot does not keep history, so Keepa is the better fit when you need past prices.

How much does the Keepa API cost?

On November 1, 2026 Keepa listed API plans from €49 a month for 20 tokens a minute, up to €11,099 a month for 10,000 tokens a minute, with rates in between. Plans are prepaid monthly and can be cancelled any time. Check its pricing page for current plans.

How much does datawebot cost for Amazon data?

Every account starts with 200 free credits. An Amazon search costs 5 credits and a product read 1. The smallest pack is $10 for 10,000 credits, which covers 10,000 product reads or 2,000 searches. Credits do not expire and failed requests are free.

Do both work with AI assistants?

Yes. Keepa hosts an MCP connector that runs on an API plan. datawebot is an MCP server too: tell your agent to read https://mcp.datawebot.com/setup.md, and it can start on the free credits.
